Using DP funds to engage self-employed PAs

This online session is designed to equip social workers working in West Sussex with the knowledge they need to confidently support individuals who are receiving, or considering receiving, a Direct Payment.

The session will cover:

  • Identifying roles suitable for a self-employed personal assistant (PA);
  • Understanding the documents and checks required to verify self-employment status;
  • Addressing the potential risks of using self-employed PAs.

This session will enable social workers to guide Direct Payment recipients who are interested in engaging a self-employed PA in making fully informed decisions.
