Once completed, this training should be refreshed every 2 years.
This training is designed to help you recognise and respond to concerns or risks related to the welfare and safety of adults and children at risk. The primary goal of this training Is to prevent and address abuse, neglect, or harm and to ensure the well-being of the people you support.
What will be covered?
- What safeguarding is.
- Your responsibilities.
- What to do if someone is in danger.
- Making safeguarding personal.
- The types of abuse and how to recognise these.
- What to do if you suspect abuse.
Fully funded training
This course is fully funded for personal assistants of adults who receive a Direct Payment (DP) until the funding period ends at the end of March 2024.
However, personal assistants supporting Direct Payment recipients under the age of 18 or Personal Health Budget recipients will need to pay a cost of £40 per person to attend. Please email [email protected] for more information.
