Moving and Handling People (theory only)

Invest in your professional development and well-being of those you care for. Join our Moving and Handling people training course today and gain the confidence and competence to provide safe and compassionate assistance to those you support. Once completed, this training should be refreshed annually. Please note this session is theory only and is therefore not recommended for those new to moving & handling people.
What will be covered?
- Your roles and responsibilities in regard to moving and handling people.
- The principles of safe moving and handling.
- The consequences of poor moving and handling and examples of moves no longer used.
- Knowledge of how to take care of your own health & safety when moving someone.
- Knowledge surrounding the importance of risk assessing and agreed ways of working.
Funding
Our PA training courses are currently fully funded by Skills for Care. This funding is available for Individual Employers living in England, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs, using either:
- their own money
- adult social care Direct Payments
- NHS Personal Health Budgets.
*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status. We may ask for evidence from self-employed PAs accessing training.
Those working with children in receipt of a West Sussex Direct Payment or PHB are also able to attend this training at no cost.
