What will be covered?
- Your roles and responsibilities in regard to moving and handling people.
- The principles of safe moving and handling.
- The consequences of poor moving and handling and examples of moves no longer used.
- In person practise of using safe manoeuvres e.g. the use of a slide sheet and hoist.
- Knowledge of how to take care of your own health & safety when moving someone.
Funding
This course is available free of charge for Individual Employers living in England, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs, using either:
- their own money
- adult social care Direct Payments
- NHS Personal Health Budgets.
*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status. Evidence of self-employed may be needed prior to accessing training.
