Autism Awareness

Autism awareness training is essential in moving towards a more supportive community for autistic individuals. This training will increase understanding and knowledge of autism as well as reducing misconceptions and misinformation. This can lead to more compassionate and supportive attitudes and interactions.

What will be covered?

  • What autism is.
  • Signs and indicators.
  • Adult and child perspectives.
  • Social interaction.
  • Repetitive and restrictive behaviours.
  • The senses.
  • Meltdowns and shutdowns.

This session will be held online via Zoom.

Who is this course for?

This training is for personal assistants who are looking to gain essential knowledge to help them with their work.

Funding

Our PA training courses are currently fully funded by Skills for Care. This funding is available for Individual Employers living in England, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs, using either:

  • their own money
  • adult social care Direct Payments
  • NHS Personal Health Budgets.

*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status. We may ask for evidence from self-employed PAs accessing training.
