DESCRIPTION:This course offers a comprehensive foundation in understanding mental health needs and using this information to deliver effective\, person-centred care. Throughout this training\, you’ll learn about various mental health conditions\, tailoring your care approaches\, and promoting overall wellbeing for individuals you support\, as well as yourself. \nWhat will be covered?\n\nWhat mental health is\nUnderstanding the mental health continuum\nHaving knowledge of your own stress container\nUnderstanding your own frame of reference and how this may affect how you support someone.\nAwareness of a variety of mental health conditions\, including anxiety and depression\nRecognising some of the early indicators of ill mental health\nSelf-help strategies and helpful resources\n\nThis session will be held online via Zoom. \nFunding\nOur PA training courses are currently fully funded by Skills for Care. This funding is available for Individual Employers living in England\, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs\, using either: \n\ntheir own money\nadult social care Direct Payments\nNHS Personal Health Budgets.\n\n*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status. We may ask for evidence from self-employed PAs accessing training. \nIf you do not qualify for this funding and still wish to attend\, there will be a cost of £40 per person. Our training focuses on teaching you best practices for safe administration\, reducing the risk of errors and ensuring you have the information and expertise required to excel in your PA role. Once completed\, this training should be refreshed annually. \nWhat will be covered?\n\nYour roles and responsibilities when administering or supporting someone with medication.\nHow to prepare medication safely.\nHow to document the use of medication.\nHow to store and dispose of medication in a safe way.\nThe 8 rights and guidelines of administration.\nWhat to do if an error is made and why they happen.\nThe types of medication.\n\nThis session is held online via Zoom. \n\n\nFunding\n\nOur PA training courses are currently fully funded by Skills for Care.
