Join our Moving and Handling people training course today and gain the confidence and competence to provide safe and compassionate assistance to those you support. \nWhat will be covered?\n\nYour roles and responsibilities in regard to moving and handling people.\nThe principles of safe moving and handling.\nThe consequences of poor moving and handling and examples of moves no longer used.\nIn person practise of using safe manoeuvres e.g. the use of a slide sheet and hoist.\nKnowledge of how to take care of your own health & safety when moving someone.\nKnowledge surrounding the importance of risk assessing and agreed ways of working.\n\nFunding\n\n\nOur courses are currently fully funded by Skills for Care for personal assistants (PAs) of individual employers receiving an adult Direct Payment or adult Personal Health Budget (PHB)\, adults self-funding their care\, and self-employed PAs. Those working with children in receipt of a West Sussex Direct Payment or PHB are also able to attend this training at no cost. \nIf you do not qualify for this funding and still wish to attend\, there would be a cost of £100 per person. This funding is available for Individual Employers living in England\, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs\, using either: \n\ntheir own money\nadult social care Direct Payments\nNHS Personal Health Budgets.\n\n*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status. We may ask for evidence from self-employed PAs accessing training. \nThose working with children in receipt of a West Sussex Direct Payment or PHB are also able to attend this training at no cost. \nIf you do not qualify for this funding and still wish to attend\, there will be a cost of £100 per person.
