I am looking for personal care for a Man

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

6 hours per week –consists of two shifts a week of 3 hours. These shifts can be worked on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Suitable days can be agreed at interview.

Hourly pay rate:

£12 per hour

I am a 26 year old man who is personable and loves to talk. I have ADHD and mental health needs. I have several interests including natural history, wildlife & landscape, photography and off-grid living. I enjoy an active lifestyle and enjoy walking, camping, skating and surfing.

I need support and prompting with domestic tasks, shopping, managing appointments, correspondence, paying bills, ordering and collecting medication.

Sometimes I need prompting with my personal care.

The successful applicant will have the ability to encourage and motivate me.

You must be friendly, patient, reliable and have experience with working with people with mental health needs

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Administration
  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Companionship

  • Occasionally support with laundry, washing and drying, putting away
  • Changing bed linen weekly and support with bed making (weekly)
  • Taking out rubbish and recycling
  • Microwaving ready meals
  • Weekly shopping – including checking fridge, freezer and making shopping list
  • Household budgeting
  • Helping to keep focussed on developing work ideas, and keeping to work plans
  • Making phone calls
  • Ordering and collecting prescriptions
  • Managing medication
  • Prompting to change clothes regularly
  • Reminding/supervision with eating
  • Support with using public transport
  • Encouragement / reminders to develop social life

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the workplace
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Must be comfortable with pets

  • Happy to work in a smoking environment

  • Have some experience with working with people with ADHD and mental health needs
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard as I need support to deal with my correspondence
  • Able to support, encourage and motivate me

  • Must be comfortable with dogs, as I am hoping to get a dog soon.
  • If you do drive you must have a UK driving licence
  • Desirable to have access to own vehicle
