I am looking for personal care  for a child

Hours per week:

Saturday mornings (ideally 9.00am-12.00/1.00pm) and a weekday morning during school holidays (times to be arranged)

Hourly pay rate:

£11 per hour

Support Worker/ Personal Care Assistant

He likes jumping, running, climbing, swimming and horse riding. He also loves a game of chase but he is very quick so you must be playful and fit and healthy to undertake the required duties. Support is also required with all aspects of toileting. The successful person must be patient and preferably have experience of working with children with Autism or special needs. We would like him to go to different places and see/interact with other people so you must be a driver with your own car. Mileage at 45p per mile will be paid while taking him out.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Bathroom assistance
  • Other relevant duties as required

Additional Duties:

• Taking him out to different places e.g. soft play areas, park, swimming, horse riding at Ferring Country Centre.
• Playing with him e.g. jumping, running, climbing, games of chase
• You must keep him safe and supervised at all times

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Notes:

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
