Support Worker/Personal Care Assistant

School holidays only 3 hours x 2 days, flexible (but not Thursdays)

Hourly pay rate:

£11 per hour

I require a support worker for my 5 year old son who has autism.

He is a friendly, smiley and inquisitive young boy who loves to interact with others.

He is full of energy, likes to be active, is sensitive to noise and can present some challenging behaviour.

His language has developed since starting school and he can say some words.

Support required to take him out e.g. park, beach, swimming, getting changed/dressed at swimming pool.

You would need to keep him safe and supervised at all times as he has no awareness of stranger danger, road safety or dogs.

You must have some experience of autism and be friendly, patient and reliable.

Driver with own car required.  Reasonable mileage when taking him out will be reimbursed.

You will report to me, his mother, as your employer.

Duties include:

Personal Care: 

  • Support with getting changed for swimming


  • Taking the child out to the beach, park, swimming.
  • Driving him in your car.
  • Keeping him safe and supervised at all times.

  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Experienced in working with children with autism

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
