Approx. 37.5 hours per week. Extra hours including overnights will be required for trips.

Hourly pay rate:

£15.00 plus extra pay for overnight trips

Would you like to be a support worker for a nature conservationist professional visiting nature reserves across the South East of England?  By supporting the work of a nature conservation charity you will be helping to protect nature and spending a good amount of time in the countryside.

I am a 46 year old man and young at heart.  Last year I had a serious mountain biking accident so I am now tetraplegic and a wheelchair user.  I am still very active and like to spend time outdoors and meet up with friends.

I am looking for an active, reliable individual to provide support with admin. tasks, meetings, using computer software and drones, outdoor activities, travelling including overnights, driving and also personal care tasks.

The role/hours could be shared between two support workers.

Driving licence is preferable but not essential.

 

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Moving and handling
  • Clinical tasks
  • Administration
  • Cooking
  • Dressing / undressing

  • Providing admin. support - taking notes, typing, online and face to face meetings, drafting and creating documents.  Also providing admin. support for HR matters/confidential meetings
  • Providing support for site visits to nature reserves/offices - organising travel and accommodation, support with travel to/from, loading up into taxis, moving around locations, providing support to use a drone and a telescope.
  • Providing support with personal care tasks during work hours e.g. dispensing medication, emptying catheter, bowel and bladder care, assistance at meal times, transferring, dressing/undressing.
  • Providing support on trips away including staying overnight, organising travel and supporting with personal care tasks.

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
