Hours per week:

5.5 hours per week - The hours are available on a Saturday or Sunday and does not have to be very weekend as the family are very flexible. Let us know when you are available!

Hourly pay rate:

£13.00 + 45p per mile

Do you have experience working with SEN children or adults with Autism? Are you looking for some additional and flexible work at the weekends? This rewarding job could be perfect for you. The work involves supporting and caring for a 9 year old boy. You would be taking him to places like the cinema and soft play. The child you would be supporting is generally a happy child who loves anything mechanical, cogs, pulleys, switches and latches. He uses a wheelchair to get around but is fully mobile when in a safe and secure environment. He is developing his skills in using picture symbols to communicate as he is non verbal, but is very good as showing you what he wants by leading you to food/drink/toys ect. The hours are available on a Saturday or Sunday and does not have to be very weekend as the family are very flexible.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Transportation
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Experience of working in SEN or supporting somebody with Autism

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
