After school 1 day a week 3pm – 6.30pm (to be mutually agreed) and more in the school holidays

Hourly pay rate:

£12.50 per hour plus 45p per mile

We require a personal Buddy/support worker for our 17-year-old who is funny, caring and a lover of Transformers, anime cartoons, Power Rangers, and retro 80's/90's films. He also enjoys swimming, gaming (Like the ones in Big Bang theory), laser quest, bowling and going shopping especially for films and playdough (he can make fantastic monsters with it from the programmes he likes). He also likes music.

We would like someone who can support him in his local and greater community to go to the gym and try to new things.

3.5 hours per week, more hours available in the school holidays

He has ASD, learning disabilities and Global development delay. He doesn't need personal care but needs prompting when changing from swimming and to look safely when crossing the road as he can be very chatty and distracted.

UK driving licence and access to own vehicle desirable but not essential

Duties include:

  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Shopping
  • Dressing / undressing

  • Prompting to get dressed after swimming/ activities
  • Accompanying and assisting my son on shopping trips when required
  • Accompanying him on Social and Leisure activities
  • Activities could include gym, trampolining, or swimming depending on what my son wants to do that day
  • We would like him to be encouraged to try new things
