I am looking for personal care for a Man

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

Each Monday, from 5:30pm to 11pm (but occasionally one shift in a month not required) 2 Wednesdays out of 4 from 5.30pm to 11pm (but possibly 4 out of 4 if applicant would like) Two Fridays out of 4 from 5.30pm to 11pm One Sunday out of 4 10am to 11pm

Personal assistant required for partly-disabled man in his own home in Chichester. Part-time. Driver with own vehicle required to support daily living, social and leisure activities. (These include swimming; 'aquacise', and gym, also cinema, country walks, visiting National Trust properties). One-to-one, but in a team, some weekends.

Which Fridays and Sundays depends on which Friday in the month it is. We try to work to a pattern, but sometimes we have to make different arrangements - we agree the rota for the team in the first/second week of the month before. Some flexibility would be desirable.

Duties include:

  • Cooking
  • Transportation

  • Reminder for tablets
  • assist where one-handedness is difficult
  • assist over uneven ground
  • some housework
  • general assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
