I am looking for personal care for a Woman
Drivers licence required: No
Hours per week:
6 hours per week (to usually be worked across 2 weekday mornings as mutually agreed), although some flexibility will be required
Hourly pay rate:
£10.45 per hour (plus 45p per mile mileage allowance if applicable)
I am a 35-year-old disabled mum of 2 young boys (who are also registered Young Carers) looking for a reliable and self-motivated PA to support me both at home and with going out locally.
I need assistance with light domestic tasks such as washing and hoovering, as well as with baking and batch-cooking meals for my children. No regular personal care support is needed although sometimes I may need some support with dressing.
I would also like help to do a weekly food shop and to get out socially, perhaps for a coffee, while my sons are at school.
Above all I want to be able to allow my sons to step back from their caring roles a little, so they have time to simply be children, and to preserve my energy so I can be a mum to them and we can spend quality time together.
You should be empathic and compassionate with a willingness to provide a listening ear every now and then. Someone with an overall understanding of anxiety and panic attacks, as well as of autism, ADHD and epilepsy in children would be desirable.
Duties include:
- Supporting me to bake cakes and batch cook meals for my family
Candidate qualities:
- Must be happy to work in an environment where employer smokes outside
- Must be comfortable with dogs
- UK driving licence and access to own vehicle desirable but not essential
Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
