Hours per week:

Tuesday after school, Possibly Wednesdays after school. School holiday hours flexible, 1 overnight per month.

Hourly pay rate:

£10 per hour

We are looking to recruit a new personal assistant for our daughter. She is calm, smiling and happy and enjoys going swimming, watching videos and listening to music on her iPad as well as going out for walks.

She is non-verbal apart from the use of one or two words. The job role will involve supporting her with the things she likes to do as well as some personal care. This is a rewarding role for the right person.

Duties include:

  • Dressing / undressing
  • Transportation
  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Bathroom assistance
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Companionship
  • Moving and handling

Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Washing and bathing/showering - towelling dry/ drying hair, this will be only if she has a sleepover.
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as require
Getting into bed-only when she has a sleepover.
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, e.g.: getting her changed at the swimming pool.
Watching her getting in and out of the car safely.
Supporting our daughter to get and out and about including swimming and going for walks.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
