Hours per week:
Core hours Mon to Sat 0800 hrs to 1830hrs. There may be some evenings and nightly stays to provide in home respite.
Hourly pay rate:
I am a 23-year-old man who lives with his parents. I am looking for support. I am a wheelchair user.
I need support with accessing social and leisure activities. I may require support and accompaniment to medical or other appointments.
I am cheeky with a good sense of humour and enjoy swimming and going to the cinema, eating out, music and fun. I require a driver, who will have access to my accessible vehicle.
I have Downs Syndrome and cerebral palsy and require you to have had training or be willing to take part in training. You must be willing to learn Makaton.
This is a rewarding role with all professional training. The role will be working with another PA to assist the employer.
- Laundry: Washing, drying, ironing and putting away
- Making tea for the employer's guests
- Transferring with use of a hoist
- Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
- Driving the employer in the employer's vehicle.
- Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
