I am looking for personal care for a Child

10 hours per week -school holidays only (Mon-Fri)

My son is 7 years old. He’s happy and cheerful and you will rarely see him upset. He loves playing hide and seek and loves tickles!

He is incredibly bright and enjoys learning new languages. He is incredibly bright and enjoys learning new languages.

Do you love the outdoors? He loves the outdoors too. This role will involve getting him out and about and joining in a variety of activities such as going for walks, soft play and swimming. Any ideas you can bring to broaden his horizons would be welcome.


Someone calm, friendly with an abundance of patience is needed as my son does have limited verbal communication.  Experience of working with Autistic children is preferred.


It would be helpful if you can drive and have your own car to get out and about, but it’s not necessary.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship

Help to find and suggest new activities/experiences.

Encourage my son to participate in and try out new activities and experiences to expand his horizons.

Monitoring risks whilst out and about i.e. road safety

Candidate qualities:

  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Experience of working with Autism in children is preferrable

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
