I am looking for personal care for a Child

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

5 hours a week (actual shift times by mutual agreement), additional hours in the school holidays may be available

Hourly pay rate:

Up to £12.00

My son is a fun-loving and adventurous 6-year-old boy who has Autism.

He loves being outdoors exploring different things such as swimming, riding his scooter in the park, playing football and swings.

Indoors, he likes playing hide-and-seek, reading, playing with toys and watching his favourite cartoons.

He is confident, brave and energetic and he is good at listening and following instructions from adults.

I am looking for a patient and calm PA to support my son in the community and at home engaging him in fun activities keeping him safe.

Duties include:

  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • A UK driving licence and  access to own vehicle is desirable and mileage of 35p will be paid

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
