I am looking for personal care for a Child

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

Weekly Thursday after school 3-4 hours & Sat or Sun every 3 weeks, 5-6 hours.

Hourly pay rate:

£12 per hour plus mileage

Fun, enthusiastic and nurturing Personal Assistant required to support 10 year old boy with Autism (profile in Aspergers) and ADHD.

Previous experience with autism and ADHD is preferrable but full training can be given

My son needs support with accessing fun, social and leisure activities.

Support is also required in building independence from family and life skills.

My son loves football, both playing and watching. He also loves animals, visiting farms/zoos, walking dogs, handling and caring for animals.

Being outside and climbing is also an activity my son enjoys.

The work would involve taking and support my son to access places like; public swimming pools and also travelling by public transport.

Starting rate of £12 with potential to rise following probationary period.

DBS Required.

  • Keen to work with an autistic child, who is articulate but with challenges in social communication and sensory processing.
  • Have an understanding of emotional dysregulation and to support someone who is feeling dysregulated.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
