Monday: 17.30-18.30; Tuesday: 9.30-10.30 and 17.30-18.30; Wednesday: 17.30-18.30; Thursday: 9.30-10.30 and 17.30-18.30; Friday: 17.30-18.30
Hourly pay rate:
£15 phr (£15.50 phr at weekends)
I am a 39-year-old woman looking for support both in the home and out and about. Jobs include some personal care such as hair washing; some housework; some medical assistance such as setting up feeding tube and reminding about medication; some cooking and food preparation
I am studying a Masters degree and work as a dyslexia specialist
I need support with accessing social and leisure activities such as going to the beach, gym, and pool
I may require support and accompaniment to medical or other appointments
I am quite a fun person but can also be quiet, especially when my pain and fatigue levels our high. I enjoy some sports when I am well enough so it is important that you can swim. I have a lot of allergies so need help preparing most food from scratch.
I require a driver with their own car and you would need to be able to put my folding manual wheelchair into it. I would need to sit in the front passenger seat due to joint issues.
Rate £15 per hour (£15.50 at weekends)
This is a rewarding role with all professional training provided.
I have a number of medical conditions and will need you to stay calm and follow written instructions in an emergency.
Due to personal care needs, you must be a female. In addition, I am allergic to cigarette smoke so non-smokers only. Please do not wear perfume if you come to interview as I am also allergic to most of these.
Duties include:
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this
Making tea for the employer's guests
Bed making
Laundry
Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as require
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym
Physiotherapy exercises
Assistance with feeding tube
Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming and the gym.
Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
Occasional longer journeys
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, the vet, to see family.
Driving and accompanying to social events such as:
Cinema
Church
University
Evening meetings
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the beach or in the woods or, visiting friends.
Accompanying on trips out eg to the garden centre, beach, cinema, craft fairs, local visits, out shopping for fun, attending social events.
Accompanying to social meetings eg friends, family
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA's car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer's wheelchair when out.
Whilst on duty at the employer's home assisting with craft activities and Lego building
Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer's manual wheelchair when out.

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
