Hours per week:

Monday to Friday. 5-6 hours per day. Times flexible.

Hourly pay rate:

£11.90 per hour

We are looking for friendly, positive, self-motivated personal assistant for our 83-year-old easy-going father in need of some help with personal care & housekeeping duties.

Our father is quiet, respectful, polite gentleman and likes sports, cars from the olden days and current affairs. He loves watching the TV. Our father has Parkinson’s and associated Dementia. He has good and bad days. On bad days, will need to support him closely, reading how he is and responding to him appropriately.

This is a rewarding role with professional training supplied if required.

Duties include:

  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance
  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required

Additional Duties:

Laundry and general household cleaning
Preparing drinks and snacks
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV

Candidate qualities:

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Notes:

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
