I am looking for personal care for a Woman

The candidate should be a woman

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

16 hours per week-2 hours in the morning excluding Wednesdays, 2 other afternoons for 2 hours each, to be arranged with successful applicant. 9am start on a Sunday to accompany me to Church. Other shift times by mutual agreement.

Hourly pay rate:

£12 per hour

I am an intelligent and sociable lady living in Horsham with my small dog.
I love music and arts and crafts, enjoy my garden and visiting National Trust gardens to meet up with friends and family.

I am looking for a sociable and experienced Personal Assistant to support me with all aspects of daily life.

Tasks will include personal care, domestic duties, companionship and accessing the community.

Duties include:

  • Companionship
  • Transportation
  • Cooking
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Dressing / undressing

Help with laundry. (Loading and unloading washer/dryer, hanging clothes & putting away).
Making bed and changing bed linen.
Putting out rubbish/recycling
Assistance/supervision with washing, showering, washing hair, and drying as required
Assistance applying creams and medical skin patches
Assistance with exercise as guided by physiotherapists
Monitoring and documenting physical and mental health on a daily basis
To go with me to Church on a Sunday
Accompanying employer to GP, Hospital, Optician appointments
Help and support to access craft activities in the home
Support in the garden
Accompanying and supporting on social outings

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Experienced with mental and physical health difficulties. (Including ability to use and transport wheelchair).
  • Extremely reliable with good time keeping and to be patient and understanding
  • Healthy and active
  • Happy to work in an environment with dogs
  • Able to work at all times in a person centered way and to high standards of health and safety
  • Professional experience is preferred but may not be essential
  • Able to provide at least two references from previous clients or workplace.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
