I am looking for personal care for a Woman

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

Ad hoc hours. Possibility of 3 hours per week to start

Hourly pay rate:

£10 per hour

I have a daughter who was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome at birth. She is now 20 and going to college from Worthing to Chichester during terms times.

I am looking for a committed domestic personal assistant to support me in my home who could also potentially offer occasional respite care evenings, weekends, holidays if desired and you have the relevant skills or experience working with adults with learning and speech & language difficulties. The work will involve general tidying, housework and cleaning and I am looking for someone reliable, organised, hygienic and tidy minded, preferably with experience whether professional or personal.

Duties include:

  • Cooking
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping

Regular general cleaning
Vacuuming, dusting
Washing floors
Cleaning the bathroom
Laundry, hanging washing out to dry, ironing and putting away
Changing bed linen
Bed making
Taking out rubbish
Occasional minor household maintenance e.g. Changing lightbulbs
Occasionally preparing drinks, snacks and meals
Washing and drying dishes
Putting away shopping and keeping kitchen cupboards tidy
Cleaning windows
General tidying
Descaling kettles, iron, bathroom taps and fittings/toilet occasionally
Wiping the inside and outside of Fridge/Freezer and washing machine occasionally
Cleaning cooker
Any other reasonable domestic chores/ household tasks

Candidate qualities:

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Medically fit and healthy, no allergies to undertake the required duties

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
