Personal Care:

  • You will need to be able to manage medical equipment such as PEG feed and CPAP. There are times when he can become unwell very suddenly so a calm approach to manage this is essential. He may need suctioning and oxygen before calling 999 although these situations are decreasing as he is getting older
  • You will need to give medication and support to do physio exercises
  • He needs to be put in his standing frame to promote his mobility and strength
  • He is starting to sit and can roll so you need to watch him so his feed pump remains in place.
  • We are starting food tasters twice a day but there will be a plan to follow
  • You will need to help him to get reading for swimming which will require disconnecting and reconnecting his PEG feed.
He is in nappies so you will need to change these as needed

Social:

  • Supporting and engaging in activities at home and out such as going to the park, swimming, sensory time, books (although likes to chew them). Activities to promote development but also keeping him safe.
