DESCRIPTION:Autism awareness training is essential in moving towards a more supportive community for autistic individuals. This training will increase understanding and knowledge of autism as well as reducing misconceptions and misinformation. This can lead to more compassionate and supportive attitudes and interactions. \nWhat will be covered?\n\nWhat autism is.\nSigns and indicators.\nAdult and child perspectives.\nSocial interaction.\nRepetitive and restrictive behaviours.\nThe senses.\nMeltdowns and shutdowns.\n\nThis session will be held online via Zoom. \nWho is this course for?\nThis training is for personal assistants who are looking to gain essential knowledge to help them with their work. \n\nFunding\n\n\nThis course is available free of charge for Individual Employers living in England\, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs\, using either: \n\ntheir own money\nadult social care Direct Payments\nNHS Personal Health Budgets.\n\n*’Contracted’ refers to PAs with true self-employed status.
