Skills for Care are running research activities throughout March 2022, and are interested in hearing the views of individual employers who are recruiting, or have recently recruited, a personal assistant. They are also looking for people to speak to them about retention of staff.

Personal assistants no longer need to legally self-isolate following a positive Covid test. Until Friday 1 April the Government are still advising that people who test positive for Covid follow the current guidance around isolation, which is to isolate for 10 full days is possible.

From April 2022, the Government are set to increase the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage in accordance with the Low Pay Commission.
